Soluble Coffee Sensory Evaluation Course
The Soluble Coffee Sensory Evaluation Course is based on a methodology developed by ABICS in technical cooperation with ITAL – the Institute of Food Technology in São Paulo, Brazil. This methodology established the Soluble Coffee Sensory Evaluation Protocol.
The course is designed for professional tasters from various sectors of the coffee industry, including raw material buyers, quality assurance controllers, and those involved in the research and development of new products.
Each year, only two courses are held, with a class size ranging from 6 to 12 participants.
The course is delivered over 24 hours, spread across four days. The first three days are dedicated to intensive sensory exercises, followed by a final day when participants are tested for certification.
Upon passing the exam, participants will be certified as ICGrader – Instant Coffee Graders. This certification enables professionals to evaluate and issue sensory analysis reports for soluble coffee. The certificate is valid for 36 months, provided that participants complete the required annual calibration sessions conducted by ABICS.
